Srijan Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Lighthouz AI, a Y Combinator-backed startup based in San Francisco, reached out to us in November 2024. At the time, they were in the early stages of planning to hire a lead backend engineer.

The conversation stayed open as they gathered more clarity internally. We followed up in February 2025, and things formally moved forward in April. Once the role was finalised, we began our sourcing efforts and received over 1,000 candidate profiles. Out of these, we shortlisted 20 strong matches for Lighthouz to review.

One of them was Devesh Kharve, whom we initially screened on 7th May. He brought over 8 years of backend experience, had led teams as a tech lead at Fibr AI, and had also worked at August AI and Borneo. Following interviews and internal evaluations, Lighthouz made an offer, which Devesh accepted by 28th May.

This was a case where the hiring process took time to get underway, but once it did, everything progressed smoothly. We’re glad we could support Lighthouz in bringing Devesh on board as their lead backend engineer and help them strengthen their engineering team.
